CBA ALBERTA PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF P.E. JAMES (JIM) PRENTICE, P.C., Q.C.

The Canadian Bar Association Alberta Branch is saddened to learn of the loss of P.E. James (Jim) Prentice, PC, QC, former Premier of Alberta, on October 14, 2016. He served the legal profession, his province and his country well throughout his lengthy career.

In addition to his time serving as Premier of Alberta and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Foothills, Mr. Prentice served as a Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre-North (2004 – 2010), Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (2006 – 2007), Minister of Industry (2007 – 2008), and Minister of Western Economic Diversification and Minister of the Environment (2008 – 2010). His many contributions to both the federal and provincial governments will long be remembered.

The CBA Alberta extends its condolences to family, friends and colleagues.
