CBA Alberta Building Security

  • January 29, 2024

The safety of CBA Alberta members, volunteers and staff is of the utmost importance. With more members returning to in-person meetings and events, we want to remind you of the security measures in place at our offices in Calgary and Edmonton.

Both office buildings – First Alberta Place in Calgary, and Rice Howard Place in Edmonton – have 24-hour security in place in the building lobby and remain vigilant as both buildings are open to the public during regular office hours.

The elevators in both buildings are generally locked, except when otherwise requested by CBA Alberta or other tenants on the floor (such as when we host in-person meetings), and restrooms in both office buildings are accessible using a code. Staff in Calgary and Edmonton leave the office doors locked when not expecting members, and especially if someone is working alone.

In addition to having security stationed at the entrance to the main parking garage under the building, Rice Howard Place also offers a security escort to the building’s secondary parkade on 101A Avenue. Should any members attending after hours events at the Calgary or Edmonton CBA Alberta office (or elsewhere) wish to have an escort to their vehicle or nearest transit station, please contact a member of the CBA Alberta for assistance.

Further, you will observe that the lobby of the Edmonton office building (Rice Howard Place) is currently undergoing renovations. Please follow signage and exercise care when passing through the scaffolding and construction area.

We look forward to welcoming you to our offices soon!
