There are more seniors than children in Canada, and the fastest-growing population since 2011 is centenarians. By 2031, Statistics Canada predicts that nearly one in four Canadians will be over 65. This Section focuses on issues relating to these elder members of our community. Such issues include:

  • Competency

  • Guardianship and trusteeship

  • Estates and planning

  • Pensions

  • Health and protection

  • Housing and real estate

  • Grandparents’ rights

Our mission is to provide information that is useful to our members in advising elder clients and family members by engaging speakers from the bar, bench, government and other professions and fields. We encourage members to suggest topics and speakers that will address their clients' questions and concerns.

Join this Section and participate in the experience and practice of elder law.
