Our Work

We focus our members’ influence in key areas of law – with government, regulators, the courts and media – in ways individual lawyers or firms cannot accomplish alone.

The Canadian Bar Association is the only national association with a mandate to protect the professional and commercial interests of the legal profession and to promote the rule of law. As such, our voice is a powerful, credible one for legislative, regulatory and policy development in many areas of the law.

Agenda For Justice

The Agenda for Justice is an Alberta Branch Initiative aimed at addressing the most pressing justice challenges facing Albertans today.

Public Policy & Advocacy

Through our public policy and advocacy work, we bring lawyers’ perspectives to the public debate, and strive to improve the law and the administration of justice, while promoting equality and access to justice.

Stay connected by volunteering your knowledge and skills on issues and practice areas that matter to you.

Truth and Reconciliation

The CBA response to the Truth & Reconciliation Calls to Action includes goals for member programs and resources, Indigenous justice advocacy and Indigenous lawyer leadership.

National Submissions

The CBA is your collective voice for law reform and government policy. On the frontlines of our justice system, we work on your behalf to protect the core values of the legal profession from regulatory and legislative encroachment.
