The 2022 CBA Alberta Secretary election concluded yesterday at noon, and we are pleased to introduce our incoming Branch Secretary Robert D.L. Bassett!
Rob is a career Crown Prosecutor with Alberta Justice & Solicitor General in Calgary, where he has practiced for over 25 years. He originally joined the CBA as a law student while attending the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, and has since co-chaired the Law Student and Criminal Law Sections, and the CBA Alberta Access to Justice Committee, and served on Council. Outside of the CBA, Rob is a long-time volunteer with Student Legal Assistance, the University of Calgary's student-run pro bono legal clinic.
As of September 1, Rob will be joined by 2022-23 Executive Committee members President Amanda Lindberg, Vice President Indra Maharaj, Treasurer Kyle Kawanami, and Past President Bianca Kratt.
We also want to sincerely thank all those candidates who ran in the election this year. The accomplished and dedicated members who put their names forward for consideration are a credit to the legal profession, and we thank them for their time and participation.
